An advertising balloon tied to Ajax Towing’s front office is on a 300 foot rope, and is flying directly over a
highway. If the angle the string makes with the ground is 78 degrees, how far is the highway from Ajax Towing?

3. How long is the rope?
since cos(angle) = adjacent side / hypotenuse, you can calculate the distance of the adjacent side with this formula:
300 * cos(78 degrees)
it’s a little more than 62 feet.
and for the second part of your question, you told us the rope was 300 feet long.
