how do i make a long lasting fire?

so i wanna make a really long lasting fire something that i can put in a 2×2 inch square about an inch high im using for a homemade Hot Air Balloon but i cant think of anything to make it high enough the fire always dies out so please help and something light

Anything well coated in wax burns for a very long time. You can find various kinds of wax that burn at different temperatures and that last for longer and shorter periods of time. We use the duraflame logs in our fireplace that have the coffee in them. I wonder if you just cut off a piece of one of them if it would work.
