How To Make A Candle Hot Air Balloon
How do you make an indoor Hot Air Balloon?
i have tried making a Mini Hot Air Balloon with many bags. I used a candle or a blow drier for the heat source and i cant get the bag to get in the air. Any tips for doing it.
I used target bags, trash bags, and some other thin bags.
Also, if you have no clue what i am talking about then look at this
Dangerous to do inside, as the balloon gets very hot you just need a single ember to fly off the candle/wick and you will reenact the Hindenburg. I really think you should reconside doing this inside your house…..
How aor balloons generate the bouyancy for lift by heating air and having colder denser air out side. You balloon will be less effective inside a heated home than it would be outside on a cool morning or evening.
See the last link which details how to make a wick using disposable blue shop towels and canning wax. These are more effective than a simple candle as they generate a larger flame and heat source. If your using a typical wax stick candle its too heavy and only generates a small flame for its size.
With the larger flame you’ll get hotter air in the bag, With these higher temps you will be more likely to have the bag melt. If is doesn’t catch on fire first but melts your’ll loose the hot air in the bag and the balloon will drop suddenly. Think what will happen if the lit wick suddenly falls onto something flamable or the partially melted balloon lands on the lit wick.
When you do this make sure to video tape it. That way you can sell it to “The Smoking Gun Presents – The Worlds Dumbest ____”
