Many companies with innovative ideas and modern amenities have fulfilled our dream of ballooning. To stay safe while enjoying this enthralling bustle, we should keep some tips in mind.

No doubt, balloon flights need zero skill level, miniscule preparation, and we don’t need to be very anxious about it. There are experts who guide us properly, accompany us, make us comfortable to feel it a simple and an activity of everyone’s reach and finally land us safely. Despite all their care, we can also make this activity safe, successful and more enjoyable adopting the following tips:

Booking Balloon Flights:

Hot air balloon rides are risky activities. So, just to know the name or read an advertisement of the company is not enough to run for booking. You should know what they are and how they work. Go through the testimonials can help you get some information. Do a bit of fact finding and expert advice from enthusiasts and operators as well.

Check Restrictions:

If you desire to have a hot air balloon ride with your to-be-mother wife, then you may face restrictions. Likewise, people under medical treatment, with physical disabilities and many more are not generally allowed to have balloon flights. So, do a pre-enquiry all about these before you make a booking.

Balance and Position:

Proper balance and position matter a lot. You will be guided well at an effective company to keep proper balance while landing, what to wear, and also about the position taking at different time. Tucked positions that will have you squat down leaning far back and holding onto a rope is the best position when landing. When it comes to wearing, you should wear a long sleeved shirt and running shoes.

All the above tips will make you confident enough to view the amazing sights and discoveries. Hot Air Balloon Flights Across Dorset

Dorset will forever be linked to the writings of novelist Thomas Hardy – Mayor of Casterbridge, Tess of the d’Urbervilles and Far from the Madding Crowd were all set in the fictional land of ‘Wessex’ which took Dorchester and surrounds as it’s inspiration. A hot air balloon tour over the area provides the perfect opportunity to view many of the county’s landmarks from a completely new perspective – or more specifically from anything up to 5,000 feet.

A good place to start is Shaftesbury or the ‘Shaston’ of Hardy’s novels. The town is an ideal place to view both the breathtaking River Stour basin and the beautiful Blackmore Vale – a valley which runs from south Somerset into Dorset. As well as many fine historical buildings, Shaftesbury has one particularly famous cobbled street. Gold Hill featured in the famous Hovis bread advert: most people will be familiar with the iconic images of a young boy pushing his loaf-laden bike up the slope to the sound of Dvorak’s “New World” Symphony.

Shaftesbury is a small market town with a history that goes back to medieval times and hill-top forts.  From the skies you may be able to spy ancient Wardour Castle, quaint villages like Motcombe, Cherry Orchard and Sturminster Newton and even Glastonbury Tor on a clear day.  Whichever direction the wind takes you, you’ll be able to appreciate Dorset’s fantastic patchwork of fields, farm-land and small forests.

Sherborne is a fine centre to base yourself and an ideal spot to explore the wide open skies by hot air balloon. Of particular note in this unspoilt area of Dorset is the Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin, now commonly known as Sherborne Abbey. It has been a Saxon cathedral, a Benedictine abbey and is now a parish church. Sherborne is literally packed to the rafters with historic buildings including Sherborne School, Sherborne House and the Almshouses.  Sherborne also featured in Hardy’s books but as ‘Sherton Abbas’ and no Dorset balloon tour here would be complete without viewing the majestic Sherborne Castle.

Further south, a hot air balloon ride from Blandford Forum is as refreshing as the ‘Badger’ beers it’s famous for. The small market town on the River Stour is a fantastic place to fly over. Look out for the corn exchange, market place and six arch bridge, which are highlights of the Georgian architecture present throughout. Just south lies the small village of Blandford St Mary, home of the Hall and Woodhouse brewery, where ales like Badger Original, Tanglefoot, and Fursty Ferret are still made today. Although Champagne is the traditional ballooning tipple, after a balloon ride from Blandford Forum, maybe we should make an exception.

If the wind takes you west you may just be able to catch a glimpse of the Cerne Giant at Cerne Abbas. The 180ft high, male figure carved into the side of a steep hill is believed to be an ancient symbol of spirituality. The giant is an important part of the culture of Dorset and according to folklore is associated with fertility.

STOP DREAMING ABOUT HOT AIR BALLOONING AND GIVE IT A TRY

If you have ever watched a hot air balloon in flight and wondered what it would be like to float above the treetops in one of the many colorful balloons you see, then it is time to stop wondering. You deserve to treat yourself to a very special hot air ballooning excursion. Anyone who has ever enjoyed the silent pleasure that comes with hot air ballooning will tell you that there is nothing like it in the world. Luckily, hot air ballooning outings are readily available and there is certain to be a company that sponsors these activities in your area. All you need to do is a little homework.

Hot air ballooning is the only form of aviation that does not require mechanical means to keep the vehicle in flight. It is this lack of machinery that creates the serene and quiet movement you feel as the balloon gently moves along. The balloon is propelled by the movement of air currents rather than by engine and propeller. Once the blast of the burner is behind you will hear only the gentle breezes. It is also the absence of mechanical propulsion that enables many people who would otherwise be afraid of heights or flying to enjoy hot air ballooning. Without the feeling of thrust, riders rarely experience motion sickness as the landscape appears to rise and fall beneath you. The floor of the gondola also feels stable beneath you.

Hot air ballooning is a spectacular way to enjoy the view of the surrounding landscape. You will notice undulations and details that you never realized existed. You move along with the wind so you don’t experience the movement you normally feel when flying. Because movement is what causes the sensation of vertigo, hot air ballooning can be enjoyed even if you normally don’t like to fly. Your speed will be determined by the speed of the wind and while the gondola will remain stable and secure throughout your flight. Hot air ballooning is one of the more relaxing experiences you will find.

There are many companies that provide hot air ballooning excursions. These companies offer many different packages. Depending on the area you live in and the type of terrain over which you will be flying, you may find day long adventures or romantic champagne getaways. Even city dwellers can find unusual and picturesque hot air ballooning experiences which will have them looking at the city skyline in a whole new light. Regardless of your tastes and the type of experience you are shopping for, you are sure to find a balloon excursion that is the perfect tonic for the grind of every day living.

So you really can stop dreaming about taking that first hot air balloon ride. There is absolutely nothing stopping you from going on a fantastic journey. You will share air space with the birds and begin to understand why the special experience of hot air ballooning has survived all these years. There is absolutely nothing else like it in the world.
